Training

Background

Brace yourself for an unforgettable journey when you enter the NTF’s training environments, a groundbreaking training tool for political, military, and corporate leaders.

Recognizing the evolving complexity of today's world, we have pioneered the use of highly immersive environments ("systemic multiconstituency exercises," SMCEs) as a groundbreaking training tool for political, military, and corporate leaders.

Our SMCEs go beyond traditional training methods, immersing learners in context-rich, simulated universes characterized by uncanny realism, thereby creating dynamic and highly realistic learning environments. This design facilitates the creation of negotiation complexity challenges, including the introduction of "cognitive maelstroms," nested negotiation networks, and cascading decision effects, all within a simulated exercise context.

With a focus on developing network thinking skills in complex negotiations, our SMCEs stand as a unique and effective immersive training platform.

Case Study

The Problem

  • The world is becoming increasingly dangerous and unpredictable, challenging political and military leaders tasked with maintaining peace and preventing war.

  • Conventional table-top exercises often lack engagement and realism, failing to adequately prepare leaders for real-world crises.

  • Leaders require highly realistic training that mirrors the complexity and uncertainty of modern conflict environments.

Our Solution

NTF developed the groundbreaking "Red Horizon" crisis simulation exercise, an advanced executive education program hosted on Harvard's campus. Designed for senior leaders in government and military, the program immerses participants in a hyper-realistic, dynamic environment. Supported by a team of 50 trained specialists, the simulation engages 70 participants in high-stakes decision-making scenarios. A career U.S. Naval Officer described Red Horizon as "one of the most powerful decision-making exercises I have ever participated in."
